About the Job
The Senior Procurement Officer will oversee and coordinate all procurement activities for the organization. This includes managing the procurement department’s daily operations, ensuring effective supply chain management, sourcing goods and services, and maintaining supplier relationships. The role focuses on achieving value for money, compliance, and transparency in all procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify essential goods and services required for ongoing programs and operations.
- Conduct regular market assessments to determine competitive sources and pricing.
- Collaborate with peer organizations and private sector stakeholders to expand supplier networks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers.
- Review purchase requisitions, verify pricing, and ensure clarity and proper authorization.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) with clear specifications.
- Receive, evaluate, and summarize supplier bids for management decision-making.
- Track procurement requests and provide timely status updates to management and requestors.
- Organize and support bid committees for competitive and transparent evaluation.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accuracy of requisitions, supplier responses, and purchase orders.
- Provide training and capacity-building support on procurement management to EYN Projects staff and partners.
- Perform other procurement-related duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
- HND/B.Sc. in Marketing, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.

- Strong leadership, management, and teamwork abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in implementing procurement policies with strict donor compliance.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- High-level communication skills in English and Hausa.

- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
